Distinguished French Educator

About this Award

Purpose: ​The Distinguished French Educator Award recognizes an AATF-Wisconsin member's outstanding c​​ontributions to world language education as exhibited through dedication, excellence in teaching, professional growth, including but not limited to self-education, formal education,publications and leadership.

 

Eligibility:  ​Recipient must be an AATF-Wisconsin member in good standing for at least 5 years and be a current K-16 teacher of French  with at least 10 years in the profession.

 

Award: ​ A cash award of $100 and a plaque. The winner will be recognized at the annual WAFLT AATF-WI Meeting in November.

Nomination Procedure:

  1. Nominations can be submitted by AATF members who have indicated "Wisconsin" as their affiliate chapter. If you are unsure of your status, you can log into the national AATF  site (frenchteachers.org) to check. 

    Nominations may also be submitted by a student or a community member without an AATF membership.
     

  2. To nominate a Distinguished Educator, please fill out this Nomination Form and include

    • A letter of endorsement from you.  You may also self-nominate for this award and include a personal statement.

    • Two letters of recommendation from colleagues, district personnel, or a student.
       

  3. Nominations are accepted any time throughout the year until December 15 for that calendar year. Nominations received after December 15 will be considered for the following calendar year.
