Héros du Français

About this Award

Purpose:  ​The Héros du Français Award recognizes a non-French teacher’s support and dedication to French and/or the study of French outside of the classroom, either in the school or in the community. 

 

Eligibility:​  Recipient may be a colleague who is not a current French teacher, administrator,community member, group or company who supports French and/or the study of French outside of the  classroom.

 

Award: ​ A plaque and a small gift. The winner(s) will be recognized at the annual WAFLT AATF-WI Meeting in November.

 

Nomination Procedure:

  1. Nominations can be submitted by AATF members who have indicated "Wisconsin" as their affiliate chapter. If you are unsure of your status, you can log into the national AATF  site (frenchteachers.org) to check. 

    Nominations may also be submitted by a student or a community member without an AATF membership.
     

  2. To nominate someone as a Héros du Français, please fill out this Nomination Form and include a letter of endorsement from you.  You may also self-nominate for this award and include a personal statement.
     

  3. Nominations are accepted any time throughout the year until December 15 for that calendar year. Nominations received after December 15 will be considered for the following calendar year.
